TransMagic R9 sp0 Release Notes:
October 24, 2011
As in previous TransMagic releases, many feature enhancements are directly driven by customer requests. The new R9 interface is designed to facilitate and support customized, semi-automated workflow processes to increase productivity.
Desktop Feature Enhancements
R9 uses a new ribbon interface that provides a dynamic view of all the major tools in TransMagic and quick access to all functions.
- The TransMagic Desktop Interface has been enhanced to increase usability of advanced features:
- New toolbars can be added and customized to enhance workflow processes.
- Improved access to selection controls facilitates operations that require edge, face, body, etc.
- Many functions are now introduced in a new ribbon interface.
- TransMagic can be run from short-cut keys or customized toolbars with the Ribbon interface turned “off”.
- There is a switch to return to the classic icon interface.
- The TransMagic user interface can be "skinned" in six different color motifs to suit your preference.
- Blue, Black, Silver, Aqua, Scenic or White
- New features added for Creo Elements/Pro (Pro/ENGINEER)
- Read suppressed parts in assemblies (does not apply to parts with suppressed bodies).
- Read edges in wireframe models and sketch planes
- Enhanced metadata extraction with PMI++
- PMI has been upgraded to PMI++ indicating the ability to output metadata into the XML format.
- With PMI++ the metadata in a CAD model, including assembly hierarchy and product manufacturing information (PMI), can be output with the 3D model for integration with applications such as PLM/PDM. This feature is currently supported in CATIA V5, UG/NX and Creo Elements/Pro files.
- Multiple languages are now supported in TransMagic.
- The languages currently supported are:
- English, German, Portuguese, Spanish.
- By default TransMagic automatically matches the language of the computer operating system (OS).
- If the OS language is not supported then the language will default to English.
- The default language can be changed using a pull-down menu in the TransMagic interface.
- Individual CAD kernels in TransMagic are now initialized and set-up when needed prior to opening or converting a file, saving time at start-up.
- These processes now occur before each translation without any need for user intervention.
- TM Batch is now an option to the "Primary" TransMagic license making it easier to upgrade the license.
- For enterprise distribution or site licenses, TransMagic supports a "Served Model" distribution method.
- TransMagic’s Inventor translator no longer requires the installation of Inventor View.
