The models you need... in the formats you want.
TransMagic R8 sp3 Release Notes (Released 12/18/2009):
TM Batch
- Cleaned up TM Batch Status Window output for better updates and readability.
- Added elapsed time to Batch Status output.
TM V5 Environment
- TM V5 Environment is now established on a per user account basis for all operating systems. This allows any account type to establish the TM V5 Environment automatically without any user rights issue.
Inventor
- Inventor Add-Ins now support both 32-bit and 64-bit Inventor.
JT
- Fixed JT resolution bug where output resolution was always "Normal" regardless of resolution specified.
- Added more JT output resolutions. The JT Facet Resolution can now be one of five settings: Lowest, Low, Normal, High, Highest. These settings refer to the common facet resolution setting "normal deviation" and correspond to the following settings: Lowest = 45 degrees, Low = 30 degrees, Normal = 15 degrees, High = 10 degrees, Highest = 5 degrees.
- Added Advanced Facetting Functionality for JT output to TransMagic and TM COMMAND. This new functionality allows for virtually unlimited Viz-Rep resolution of JT files. One such use would be in high-end large format renderings where super-fine polygonal control is required.
- Added JT assembly output types: Single File Assembly | Entire assembly in one file. Typical Assembly | Assembly JT files + part JT files. Typical Assembly w/Directory | Typical assembly JT file + directory. All Assembly Files | Each assembly is a JT file including parts.
- Upgraded to JT Open 5.3 (toolkit version)
Geometry
- Drastically improved rendering performance for re-rendering geometry changes. The rendering engine now intelligently determines only what has changed and re-renders only that versus re-rendering the entire scene after small changes.
- Added a "Show Un-Repaired Geometry" dialog that gets launched when appropriately during the Auto-Repair Wizard or can be launched alone via a new "Show Bad Geometry" button on the Advanced Toolbar. Requires the MagicSURFACE Toolkit. This is an invaluable function for finding and fixing trouble spot during manual Repair operations.
TM COMMAND
- Fixed TM COMMAND issue where any option that started with "-h" triggered help output at the command window.
- Changed TM COMMAND Hide Construction -hc option to -ch.
- Changed TM COMMAND Translate Hidden Entity -he option to -eh.
- Changed TM COMMAND "inopts" field to "globalopts" as this is a more appropriate name since these options are global and apply to the incoming file and thus apply to all outgoing formats. Docs and command line output -h option have been changed to reflect this new field name.
- Added TM COMMAND -optiondlg page modifier option which allows the option dialog to only open with a specific page such as IGES Write Options or CATIA V5 Read Options, etc. This makes for even better third party application integration and reduces user confusion.
- Added ability to run Lite and Full successively in TM COMMAND.
- Added a TM COMMAND option -otd that instructs it to create individual output directories of files being processed. This document was included in the documentation but not actually implemented.
- Added command line licensing with no GUI to TM COMMAND for OEM/Enterprise licensing automation.
- Bounding Box calculations have returned a larger box than required in some cases. A new ultra-precise Exact Bounding Box calculation method has been implemented. This calculation can take longer in certain cases but the end result is a super-precise Bounding Box all the time.
- Added a Fast Bounding Box option that can be enabled to use the previous faster but less accurate bounding box. The Fast Bounding Box is good for quick checks and general dimensions.
- Fixed issue where if an ACIS SAT was saved out and then immediately a TMR file was saved out, an error "assembly save" error would appear and then an empty TMR file would be created.
TM BATCH
- Added ability to run Lite and Full successively in TM Batch and all Plug-Ins.
Computer Configurations
- With the exception of the .NET Frameworks, which require a separate prerequisite install, the TM installer no longer requires any other Microsoft prerequisites which greatly simplifies the install process and reduces system conflicts. All required prerequisites are now installed as InstallShield "merge modules".
- Fully tested and supported on Windows 7.
