Mass Properties and Quoting Tools
TransMagic has excellent job quoting capabilities for tool and mold makers with features to calculate mass properties, create bounding boxes and take measurements. Material properties can easily be used to calculate material cost for quotes. Mass PropertiesTransMagic can calculate mass properties to help companies prepare job quotes for injection-molded parts. If you know your material properties you can calculate material cost for quotes.
Moments of InertiaMoments of inertia are calculated along with other mass properties. This information can be copied and pasted into other applications such as Excel or Word.
Center of MassThree construction planes display the exact center of mass. This information can be exported to downstream analysis, simulation or other software systems.

Bounding BoxThe bounding box can determine the size of a selected part and display a graphic element showing the dimensions for stock size.
MeasurementA single button click turns on the measurement tool. Click anywhere on the part or the bounding box and drag the mouse to measure between two points.
Scale PartTo change the size of a part just click the Scale Part button, enter a scale factor, and the part will be re-sized accordingly. The Scale Part and Bounding Box tools provide useful information for determining mold size requirements. Both uniform and non-uniform scaling are available.
Units of MeasureSelect the desired units of measurement in English or Metric. TransMagic will read existing file units and convert them automatically to the user's selected units. |
PMI++
PMI++ allows complete metadata extraction and PMI information of assembly structure and individual parts. Useful for a range of applications, PMI++ allows companies a deeper level of data access and query. XML OutputPMI++ allows the extraction and export of PMI information into XML files. As most PMI information is embedded in the CAD files, this technology exposes that PMI information into an open and readable format with ties back to the CAD data for associativity. XML output also allows more advanced implementation scenarios where, in combination with the XML + File output, PMI++ could be used to process entire CAD assemblies into easily accessible, query output for users. For example, an intranet interface where users could brose part and assembly libraries in a web browser environment without the need for CAD licenses or even third party viewers is a possibility with PMI++. The PMI + XML + File output could also be used to reconstruct a browser "tree" that users could then query. TransMagic supports 3D polygonal HTML views supported in most browsers or simply 2D images in multiple view types and rendering modes that can be browsed in an assembly tree structure. PMI++ is the feature that allows users unhindered, usable access to CAD model information. Selective UpdatesAdding usability for IT professionals, PMI++ also facilitates "selective updates" of individual components or sub-assemblies. Selective update refers to the ability to update translations of only the parts that have changed instead of the entire assembly. For example, if just a single part was changed in a PDM system in the context of a larger assembly, using the PMI++ XML Assembly as the organization document will allow only the translation of the changed part, not the entire assembly.
